Support for Tired and Weary Parents

When parenting is your passion and you are doing your best to keep afloat; you are tired and worn, to those parents, I am speaking to you.

You are amazing parent. Do you know how I know? You are reading this. You may be actively seeking articles to improve your skills as a parent or you may have come across this article by accident, nevertheless, you are reading it and you are engaged. Somehow you were subconsciously drawn to the message and here you are.

Let me say it again, you are an amazing parent! Not only do you need to hear it, but you need to believe it and rest in that knowing for a while. Give yourself the credit! No one can do your job quite like you. Raising children is no small feat; sometimes it is difficult even on good days. On the other hand, there is not a joy so full or personal fulfillment so rich other than raising children in whom you share your life and love with, and in whom give it back to you in return. This is why we work tirelessly for our children, and we would do it all over again if we had the chance.

No doubt you have felt the wear and tear resulting from the emotional and physical endurance exerted from your role as a parent. There is hope. There is rest.

Do you feel worn down? Do you feel weary and tired from doing it all on your own, or feel that the weight of the responsibility is weighing you down? I have been there too, and it’s going to be okay. I heard a song by Linkin Park on the radio, over the weekend, that may resonate with you like it did with me, it went like this, “I’m holding on. Why is everything so heavy? I’m holding on to so much more than I can carry.” I thought to myself, wow! That’s how I feel, but with parenting. I’m tired, I’m worn down and the burden is so heavy. Sometimes we get so caught up in parenting we forget about ourselves and how we feel until we are worn down. Sometimes we need to unplug and do something for ourselves in order to retreat and ground ourselves. We need to seek out support and avoid doing everything on our own. I am guilty of this as well. I have been learning to allow others to help me and to allow myself that time to participate in self care. When we feel supported and cared for we become full, grounded and better equipped to handle the daily stressors that would normally overwhelm us and leave us burnt out.

There have been people in my life that have become huge supporters that I couldn’t imagine living my life without. I am so thankful. As a result, I want to help other parents going through similar situations. Consider letting me support you, let me help relieve some of the burden that you carry. Allow me to partner with you as you parent your child. My focus as a Holistic Nutritionist is to help make health more accessible, easier to understand and achieve for you and your child.
